Mr. John Ninness

MBA, Chartered Professional Member of the Safety Institute of Australia CPMSIA, MACGIH, JP.
Principal Consultant, Mr. John Ninness has a broad background in corporate
business & safety management having held senior roles in major public and
private sector organizations throughout Australia. As a qualified auditor,
Chartered Safety Practitioner, and experienced business consultant, John can
add value to your organization through a range of innovative and customer
focused services.
John has extensive experience in the development and implementation of
safety, human resource and export development systems at both plant, state and
national level.
John commenced his career in the Australian Defence Force before moving to
work with the Queensland Government's
Safety in Mines Testing & Research Station
(Simtars) in the early 1990s. John moved into the private sector and held posts
as Safety Manager, National OHS Manager, National Human Resources Manager and
Regional Operations Manager.
He returned to Simtars in 2001 undertaking a range of occupational hygiene
and occupational safety & health laboratory testing and consultancy services to a broad range of major
Australian & International clients. John left Simtars in 2005 and commenced his own consultancy
business.
John has consulted with major organisations including BHP Billiton,
Queensland Rail, Newmont Australia, Comalco, Rio Tinto, Royal Australian Air
Force, Anglocoal Australia, Australia Meat Holdings, Queensland Government, Australian Publishing
Resource Services and Vox Retail Group.
He is Chairman of OSHAID International, a not-for profit charity, undertaking
aid work in developing countries and is well published in safety & health
circles on a range of subjects including change management and its impact on OHS.
He has spoken at a range of Australian National and international forums on work
safety. John is also consultant editor for Australasian Mine Safety Review.
He has a growing interest in modern Chinese history and Mandarin language.
